Arquebus and rifles

XVIII-XIX CENTURY

The musket (or musket) is one of the first portable firearms, heavy and unwieldy. The collection consists of five handguns and a rifle:

c) Leoni C., 18th century, rchibusus with gun without decoration
d) Bott. toscana, 18th century, Archibusus converted to percussion

Insights

There are various types:
musket fire (or stone), the oldest type, muzzle loading, in which for the ignition of the charge is used first burning coal and then a red-hot iron rod;
musket fork, big weapon supported by a fork resting on a tripod or planted on the ground;
arquebuse chamber, breech; to. to fuse, in which the ignition of the charge is obtained with a fuse through a lateral focone;
musket string, with a crush rope instead of the fuse;
arquebuse to snake, with flint and steel coil.
